The river is the organizing fact of the place: rooms, balconies, and the upper-floor Explorer's Bar all face the water, and most of the activities begin or end on it.

Accommodation runs from classic single, double, and twin rooms through air-conditioned deluxe rooms with wooden floors and king-size beds, to superior suites with a separate living area and a mini bar. Cottages — including the Queens Cottage and the Presidential Cottage — offer the most privacy, with en-suite bathrooms and dual showers. All room categories have balconies, electronic safes, mosquito nets, and en-suite bathrooms. Deluxe tents are also available for guests who want a patio directly above the river.

Game drives run twice daily. The morning drive starts early, with breakfast available beforehand or on return. The circuit west through the Buligi area to Delta Point — where the Victoria Nile enters Lake Albert and becomes the Albert Nile — takes around three hours and covers elephant, buffalo, giraffe, Jackson's hartebeest, and oribi, with lion and leopard possible. A UWA ranger guide can be arranged with advance notice.

The Nile here holds Nile perch and catfish; a one-hundred-and-eight kilogram perch was landed near the falls in 2002. Fishing permits come from the UWA office at South Paraa, and the lodge rents basic fishing gear and binoculars. Rhino tracking is available off-site. The lodge also has a pool, spa, conference room, and a restaurant serving local and international food.

Awarded the concession to manage this rest camp in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park in September 2002, Red Chilli inherited a cluster of crumbling mud huts and built up the site over the years that followed. The camp sits at Paraa, deep inside Uganda's oldest and largest conservation area, a stretch of savannah and riverine forest bisected by the Nile. It is a working base, not a polished one. Six room types range from basic bandas with shared bathrooms to family bandas with two bedrooms and a veranda, and safari tents lit only by a paraffin lantern set outside after dark. Superior bandas run on solar power, with fans, USB sockets and hot water; campers can pitch their own tents in the bush. A restaurant, a bar and a nightly campfire anchor camp life. From here, rangers and drivers lead game drives, walks and boat launches toward Murchison Falls itself, where the Nile forces through a narrow cleft in the rock before dropping into the gorge below. You can hear hippos grunting along the river after dark. The park holds over 76 mammal species and the highest concentration of Rothschild's giraffe anywhere, alongside lion, elephant and buffalo on the floodplain. Staff are drawn largely from local communities and trained in guiding, conservation and driving. Bathrooms are shared at the camp's simpler bandas, communal at the ablution blocks scattered through the grounds.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0582/6776/2747/files/red-chilli-rest-camp-hotel-murchison-falls-national-park-sambiya-village-uganda-01.webp?v=1785179339
