The lodge runs on solar power, and compost toilets serve most of its rooms. It is a not-for-profit stay. Guest rooms are simple. Sunrise and Sunset Suites open onto private decking that leads straight into the lagoon, with open-air showers and views of the sea. The Earth Suite is built from rammed earth, its thick walls keeping rooms cool without air-conditioning and muffling road noise, with a shower finished in local slate. Queen Plus rooms offer more privacy and a flushing toilet, one of only three at the lodge. The onsite restaurant, run with Chef Ike, serves fusion meals and cocktails from a menu built almost entirely on local produce. A charity, Dream Big Ghana, is based at the lodge, and every stay funds its sanitation, education, and healthcare work in the surrounding community. Twenty-eight staff, drawn from nearby villages, work no more than 40 hours a week. There is no wifi, hot water, or television.
