Night drives extend the afternoon outing. Walking safaris are part of the programme — the tradition in the Luangwa Valley goes back to the 1950s, when Norman Carr established Zambia's first photographic safari operation here. Boat safaris run seasonally on the river. A spa operates in camp, with treatments using products made from plants and produce sourced locally around Mfuwe. The camp also offers sleep-outs on the riverbank, available at an additional cost.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eChinzombo is open year-round and is the largest and most fully equipped of the Time + Tide camps in South Luangwa — the others at Mchenja, Kakuli, Luwi and Nsolo operate on a seasonal schedule and close in the wet season.
