Its Library Bar holds more than 5,000 signed books by authors from 76 countries, alongside a guest book of inscriptions from musicians, actors and politicians. CoBrA paintings hang throughout the public rooms, including in Brasserie Ambassade, where the kitchen works a French repertoire from breakfast through dinner. A terrace opens onto the canal in warmer months. The Anne Frank House and the Nine Streets are both a short walk off, and Dam Square is close enough to reach on foot before lunch.
