Each carriage has been converted into a room with its own en suite bathroom, fan and solid camp bed, keeping the original shape of the carriage but fitting it for overnight stays. The main guest area sits under a thatch roof, open on the sides, looking over a waterhole where animals come to drink. It is a compact stay. Just six rooms in total, so the camp runs at a small, unhurried scale. Days are built around game drives and guided walks, both morning and afternoon, across the concession and into Hwange itself, with night drives run for guests who want to see what moves after dark. Guides work on foot as well as from open vehicles, reading tracks and pointing out the smaller life of the bush along the way. Meals are taken communally, and the camp keeps an outdoor pool for the slow hours between drives. Bird watching and stargazing rank among the quieter pursuits on offer. Check-in runs from 2pm, checkout by 10am.
