Camp 1
Lemosho Forest Camp is one of 3 names given to this particular camp. In Tanzanian dialect of Swahili, it is known as Mti Mbukwa which translated means Big Tree, the 3rd of its names. The Lemosho route starts this low to help your body gradually get used to the altitude. Most people climbing Kili will feel the effects of there being less oxygen just on arriving into Tanzania let alone at 2650m above sea level where the first nights camping lies. Londorossi Gate, from where the 8-day trip begins sits at 2150m, so a relatively slow introduction, and not overly taxing start helps the body deal with this first nights altitude.

It is an accurate and real climb account of what to expect through the eyes of the group that climbed in September 2018. The video is just under 4 minutes.
