The Federal Hall National Memorial on Wall Street serves as a museum and memorial to commemorate the first President, George Washington and the beginnings of the United States of America. The museum exhibits the bible used by George Washington as he took the oath of office, models of the New York City Hall and the old Federal Hall, as well as a copy of the printing press from the John Peter Zenger trial that took place in 1735. Visitors can enjoy guided or self-guided tours through this historic site and learn about the history, the construction of the Customs House, and the establishment of the National Memorial.
