frans-indongo-lodge-15438
Frans Indongo Lodge

Frans Indongo Lodge stands on a one-hundred-and-seventy square kilometre private farm off the D2433, roughly forty-six kilometres from Otjiwarongo, on the main road between Windhoek and Etosha National Park. The farm carries white and black rhino, sable antelope, black springbok, nyala, black wildebeest, and hartebeest. A waterhole near the pool draws animals within sight of the sundeck.

The lodge is modelled on a traditional Ovambo homestead: tall palisades of pointed stakes enclose the complex, with a second internal palisade separating the restaurant and pool area from the guest rooms. All buildings use stone, thatch, and wooden beams. The interior decoration and colour scheme draw on Ovambo culture from northern Namibia throughout.

Accommodation runs to eight chalets, two double rooms, two economy rooms, and a family unit — the last consisting of two rooms with a shared bathroom and an interconnecting door. Every room has air conditioning, a fridge, and an electric kettle. A bush campsite sits approximately five kilometres from the main lodge, also on the D2433.

Guided sundowner drives and bush walks leave from the lodge, including a route to a lookout point over the farm. Self-guided walks are also available. Off the property, the Cheetah Conservation Fund and Waterberg Plateau Park are both within reach as day trips. The lodge is malaria-free.
