Seven Forest Suites, built in 2024 from solid cross-laminated timber, take their low, grounded shape from the Sami lavvu. Each suite measures 62 m2, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the forest and a king-size bed turned toward the trees. Suites are fully private, with their own entrance and bathroom. On clear nights the Northern Lights are visible from the window; Alta lies at 69 degrees North, one of the better latitudes on earth for the aurora, and the season runs from September to March.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGuests harness and drive their own dog teams rather than ride behind a guide, on tours ranging from a 2.5-hour forest run to five-day crossings of the Finnmark wilderness. Breakfast is served each morning in a restored post-war barn that also holds the lounge and restaurant, with smoked salmon, fresh bread, and local cold cuts. A wood-fired sauna, ice bath, and outdoor jacuzzi are open to overnight guests, bookable by the hour. Alta Airport is fifteen minutes away, with transfers arranged for all guests.
