Hotel Grandezza

Set on the south side of Zelný trh, one of Brno's central squares with its baroque Parnas fountain, Hotel Grandezza occupies a building marking its 111th year since construction. The restoration kept period details intact while adding modern comfort, and the lobby ceiling is hand-painted glass above marble mosaic floors. Reception runs around the clock. Most rooms look over the square itself, with the city's cathedral and hilltop castle visible beyond the rooftops; some rooms add a balcony. De Luxe and Superior rooms are furnished in a manor-house style, fitted with air-conditioning, a mini-bar, tea and coffee kit, safe, and a large satellite television; bathrooms come with a hairdryer, robe, and slippers. Junior Suites add a separate living area, occasionally split across two rooms. The Onyx Tower Suite tops the building as a three-storey apartment with its own lift, the only one of its kind in the city. It has a crystal chandelier, a custom onyx wall with porthole-shaped windows over the square, and stained-glass bathroom tiling downstairs. The top floor sits inside the roof dome, with a glass floor and two balconies facing the castle, cathedral, and square below. The hotel also runs a restaurant, café, and patisserie, with a private jacuzzi, airport shuttle, and laundry service on offer.
