The Mosteiro dos Jerónimos in Lisbon, commissioned by King Manuel I in 1501, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a striking symbol of Portugal’s Age of Discovery. Built in Manueline style with Gothic and Renaissance influences, it commemorates Vasco da Gama’s voyage to India.
