kadizora-camp-42478
Kadizora Camp

Kadizora Camp sits on a peninsula on the NG12 concession in the northern Okavango Delta, close to Gunotsoga village and neighbouring the Duba Plains and Vumbura concessions. The camp is Botswana-owned — the site was the home of the baYei Kadizora family, who have lived in this part of the delta since the late eighteenth century, and ninety-five percent of the staff come from the local community.

The camp holds eight luxury tents and three standard tents, each positioned for privacy on the bank with an outdoor deck, en-suite bathroom, feature bath, his-and-hers vanities, and an outdoor shower. There is also a villa with a private plunge pool. A bar, communal dining area, and a shared pool serve the camp as a whole.

The 120,000-hectare unfenced concession is shared by only five camps, which keeps vehicle numbers low at any sighting. Guides go out twice daily in open-sided vehicles — before dawn in the morning and in the late afternoon — and night drives are available on request. On the water, guides pole mokoro through the channels and into shallow areas a boat cannot reach; boat cruises run along the main channels for birdlife and elephant sightings. The camp also has a three-seat helicopter based permanently on site, with doors removed for flights, which removes the cost of ferrying it from Maun.

Access is by a roughly forty-minute light-aircraft flight from Maun, followed by a short transfer by open game vehicle.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0582/6776/2747/files/42478_2F1759257365804kadizora-camp---lodge-images--3.jpg?v=1784350894
