A bird hide sits at water level on the dam, low enough to watch elephants drink and kingfishers hover without disturbing either. On clear nights dinner moves to the boma, where guests eat around a fire inside a ring of wooden fencing, the ranger hosting and the bush supplying its own soundtrack. You can hear a fish eagle call across the water some evenings, and hippos surfacing below the deck.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBeyond the reserve, guests can join a Kruger National Park excursion, a hot air balloon flight over the Sabie River, or helicopter flips above the Blyde River Canyon and Olifants River Gorge.
