The name ‘Kifaru’ means ‘Rhino’ in Swahili, and the conservation of these critically endangered animals is at the heart of the Kifaru ethos, with the majority of the revenue generated by the lodge going directly towards Rhino Momma and their conservation efforts.

About Rhino Momma

The Rhino Momma Project is dedicated to the care and repopulation of the Rhino species in Southern Africa. In order to achieve these goals we routinely dehorn our rhinos to reduce the risk of poaching and to prioritise the safety of our animals. Kifaru Luxury Lodge is the proud lodge representative of the program. The project is based at an undisclosed location and guests will be transported to the reserve for the experience.

Guests looking for a more easy-going, adventurous experience can enjoy the rustic Bush Camp situated 5 km from the Main Luxury Lodge.

The main area of the Bush Camp is double volume and has been built to resemble a barn, allowing for a light and airy feeling and free flow throughout the building. The large, farm-style wrap-around verandas overlooking beautiful nature like only Namibia can boast, and a swimming pool which has been built to resemble a traditional Namibian farm dam.

This allows guests the possibility of enjoying a nightcap and game viewing without necessarily even leaving the comfort of the sofa!

We have our own little paradise with more than 60 species of mammals and +- 319 bird species that might be seen on the reserve. After viewing Namibia's diverse game and bird species and one of Namibia's most endangered mammals on an open vehicle game drive, enjoy a sundowner overlooking a one in a million sunset and traditional dining and hospitality and settle in for the night, surrounded by the safely-distant sounds of the Namibian bushveld.

Early mornings will reward you with a spectacular sunrise and steaming cup of coffee while you energize for your morning game drive or tracking walk. If you feel like just relaxing, hang around the camp and do some birding or relax by the swimming pool.
