Twenty-four beaches ring the island, and several fringing reefs lie close enough to reach on foot. At Watson's Bay, the Clam Gardens sit a short swim from the shore, and Anchor Bay and Sunset Beach offer their own entries to the reef without a boat. Cod Hole, one of the region's known dive sites, lies about 45 minutes from shore, home to the Potato Cod that gather there. Inner reef fishing grounds are 15 minutes out by boat, the outer reef a further 35. Guests can walk to Cook's Look, the island's highest point, for views over the surrounding water. On site, a freshwater pool sits between the lodge and the spa, and a tennis court and gym are open to all guests. The restaurant looks out from an open veranda over the beach, its menu built around local produce and reef-caught seafood. You can hear the tide from the veranda after dark.
