Mystery Castle

Located in the foothills of South Mountain Park, Mystery Castle is open for tours from October through May. When Boyce Gully was faced with the reality of death in his prime, he ran away from his family to Arizona where he built the stone castle for his daughter, Mary Lou in memory of precious moments at the beach where he used to build sandcastles for her. The impressive castle features 18 rooms, 13 fireplaces, parapets and many nooks and crannies and is furnished with southwestern antiques. Mary Lou gave guided tours of her home until her death in 2010. Today tourists can explore the internationally renowned Mystery Castle.
