The river cuts through rolling hills dotted with acacia trees before opening onto grassy savannah, and it is here, between July and October, that migrating wildebeest face the crossing's greatest hazard: a stretch of water holding some of the highest concentrations of crocodiles in Africa. The camp has ten tented suites. Each has canvas walls and a glass front, built to keep the view open rather than shut it out. Suites come with a copper bath tub, double shower, twin vanity, and a plunge pool on the deck. The Mara tented suite adds a separate lounge with a sleeper couch, useful for a family of four. Days run on game drives, walks with guides, and night drives, with a spa and pool back at camp for the hours between. Meals are taken at a restaurant with a vegetarian menu, and high tea and gourmet picnics can be arranged on request. Check-in is at noon, check-out at 11am.
