ntunda-lodge
Ntunda Lodge

Open green gardens ring Ntunda Lodge, and from them the land runs out flat toward traditional homesteads with barely a wall to stop the eye. It is a quiet base, less than five kilometres from Oshakati and about two kilometres from the village of Uukwangula, built around a stream, a pan and a shallow water pocket that mark its edges. Fourteen rooms range from luxury doubles with air conditioning and television down to economy rooms with two single beds and a fan; bungalows sleep in a similar spread of comfort. Warm water runs to the better rooms, cold to the simpler ones, and every room keeps a shower, a table and chairs. Meals come from the Etala Restaurant, eaten inside, in the open-sided African lounge, or out in the garden. Evenings gather at the bar for sundowners, with the pan and homesteads laid out under the sky. A swimming pool cools the middle of the day, and two dams on the property, along with nearby lakes, keep canoes and fishing rods busy in the rainy season. Village tours run on request, sometimes with local goods laid out for sale. The lodge doubles as a conference venue, with a hall built to hold up to five hundred people. Wi-Fi reaches the rooms and the gardens alike. Check-in runs from noon.
