Poovar Island Resort

The Poovar Island Resort is surrounded by serene backwaters and opens out to the Arabian Sea with a sandy beach. The resort is set on 25 acres of coconut gardens and has sea and backwater facing cottages and villas built around the swimming pool. Poovar Island Resort is accessible only by a 10-minute boat ride on the river.

Featured at the resort is a boutique shop that sells Kerala artefacts, wood carvings, handicrafts, shawls, blankets and jewellery. There’s also a barbeque area, Ayurveda spa and indoor games. Cooking classes on making traditional Kerala dishes are available. Resort management organises motorboat cruises on the backwaters and the Poovar River. Excursions to local villages, fishing places and other tourist sites can also be arranged.
