The lodge is made of indigenous hardwood in a traditional African style, with seventeen tented rooms set to catch the light across the valley below. Each tent has its own veranda. Bathrooms are en suite with showers and hot water heated by solar boiler, and beds are dressed in pure cotton linen. The Suite adds an outdoor bath and a larger balcony; the Family Room pairs a king bed with two singles for parents travelling with children. Villages and smallholder farms lie within sight of the terrace, worked in narrow terraces that climb the slope. A pool sits among wide outdoor sitting areas, and the restaurant serves food drawn from local recipes. You can hear birdsong from the veranda through most of the day, useful for the birding and cycling on offer close to the lodge. Further afield, guests join cultural walks, village lunches, school visits and game drives into the surrounding conservation area. Check-in runs from 2pm.
