The barons owned the estate from 1860 and shaped much of the town over three generations. Their last heir, an aviation enthusiast, left Estonia in 1939, and the building later served administrative and police functions until it passed into private hands in 1998. Restoration returned the house to use as a hotel, and it opened in August 2021.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSeventeen rooms spread across three floors, five of them suites. Windows look onto the church or the theatre next door. A grand suite on the second floor spans 92 square metres, with two bedrooms, a large sitting room, and its own sauna. Junior suites run from 33 to 44 square metres and keep original period details alongside a wide bed and a pull-out sofa.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe basement spa holds a relaxation pool, a jacuzzi, and saunas, and takes up to 22 guests at a time. Treatments use Cinq Mondes products, and Molton Brown fittings appear in the bathrooms. Restaurant Schloss and the café Novell draw on local produce. A library room holds a wide collection of books.
