It once carried cotton, grain, and other cargo between Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, and Mombasa under a Bajuni crew of sixteen sailors. The dhow is now moored at the lodge and serves as a restaurant; the kitchen draws on Swahili coastal cooking alongside broader menus. Eating aboard gives you the structure and the scale of the original working vessel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lodge also has two bars, including the swing and safari bar, which serves cocktails and mocktails in the evenings.
