Walking & Running Trail

The trail runs behind the lodge, starting at the main entrance and climbing through hilly terrain before entering a eucalyptus forest fragrant with the trees' oil. It covers 2.2 kilometres, finishing at the on-site Akarabo Nursery. Unguided, it lets guests set their own pace, walking or running as they choose. On clear days, the city of Musanze is visible in the distance below. Buffalo and other wildlife share the area, mostly moving through in the evenings, so guests use their own judgement and go at their own risk. Best used in the drier months, from June to September and December to February.
