The nineteen rooms are built from converted thoroughbred stables, arranged through open courtyards that follow the line of the original stable yards. Each room is named after a horse that once occupied that stall — the Peech family bred five hundred thoroughbreds here over forty years for local and South African markets, and the hotel grew from those stables after the breeding operation wound down. The family have held the land periodically since 1912 and still own and run it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRoom categories run from budget rooms of around twenty-five square metres up to Classic rooms of twenty-five to thirty-six square metres with four-poster beds and en-suite bath and shower, Superior rooms of thirty-seven to fifty-six square metres with minibars and garden or courtyard views, and a suite with a separate sitting room, private patio, and views across the lawns to the valley. All rooms run on solar power with generator backup; water comes from a borehole on the estate.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOther facilities include a library, bar, gym, swimming pool, tennis court, and boules. Guided walks lead down to a private lake in the valley, where catch-and-release fishing and picnics are available.
