The World Backwaters

Alleppey covers an area of 1,414 square kilometers (546 sq mi) and spreads around 2,195 square kilometers (847 sq mi) waterfront of the Vembanad Lake, where one can witness the magnificent union of six major rivers which spreads out extensively before joining the 80 km coast line of the district. The place boasts of a rich cultural history and is well known for its beaches, backwaters & lagoons.
