treehotel-harads-sweden
Treehotel

Access to each room here is the point. A suspended bridge climbs from the forest floor to Biosphere, a sphere clad in nesting boxes for local birds and bats, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and built in 2022. Mirrorcube, finished in 2010 by Tham & Videgård, is reached by ladder to a mirrored box wrapped around the trunks, its walls reflecting the pine canopy back at itself. The Cabin crosses a horizontal bridge to a wooden deck angled over the Lule River valley. Nine rooms in total, each by a different architect, sit among the pines outside Harads, a village of about 500 people in Norrbotten. Ground-floor life runs through the Guesthouse, six rooms built from the 1930s to 1950s with a shared fireplace and 14 beds between them. A restaurant serves Swedish and international dishes, and a forest spa near the treerooms holds a sauna and outdoor jacuzzi, booked in advance for privacy. Guided dinners run further into the woods: a three-course meal cooked over an open fire beside Lake Båttjärnen, or a tipi dinner set out on the frozen Lule River in winter. Wildlife safaris by heated sled run from January to April, weather permitting. It is a working forest, not a stage set. Check-in details and room access vary; some treerooms use nearby shower buildings rather than en-suite bathrooms.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0582/6776/2747/files/AHRPTWnb1xraoXizRabCtWk8DPyunzApJyK4VwJyanLoYLey94fo5FOfpToT6rLQT5O6eIy8reDJFaHG1F0MnUms_2s_dOMDOINQJCbQlrfLYwqW0qj38Ez17sN1CuAf-hgln-9N-M2rkA_w4800-h4800.jpg?v=1785179440
