Botswana

Botswana is a landlocked southern African country where safari travel centres on the Okavango Delta, Chobe, Moremi and the Makgadikgadi salt pans. The north-west and central districts hold the majority of lodges and camps. Trips divide between lodge-based stays with daily game drives and mobile camping safaris that move between seasonal floodplains, riverine bush and open grassland. Activities include boat safaris on the delta channels, guided bush walks, rhino and giraffe monitoring in smaller reserves near the south-east, and horseback riding in the Ghanzi district. The terrain shifts between permanent water systems, dry savannah and ancient seasonal pans. Lion sightings, elephant herds and birdlife draw most visitors between April and October.
