Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa, anchored by Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River and a network of national parks. Most trips pair the falls with safari lodges in Hwange and other reserves, where game drives and walking safaris track elephant, rhino and plains game. White-water rafting below the falls and river cruises upstream are common activities. Mobile camping safaris move through Zambezi National Park and the Mupata Gorge. The granite landscapes of Matopos National Park and the eastern highlands near Chimanimani offer hiking and rock formations. Matabeleland North, around Victoria Falls, holds the highest concentration of lodges and activity operators. Harare serves as the capital and entry point.
