Watching white rhino from the outdoor bath defines the two Superior Luxury rooms. Ugab Game Farm & Lodge sits in the Ugab valley, 100 kilometres southwest of Outjo in Namibia's Kunene region. The property opened in August 2022 on a 9,800-hectare reserve holding more than 860 animals — white rhino, giraffe, sable, roan, eland, kudu, oryx, impala, springbok, and blue and golden wildebeest among them. Three resident white rhino — Fritz, Diana, and Julia — drink regularly at the lodge waterhole visible from the lounge, fire pit, and pool terrace. Eight rooms in total include two Standard Luxury, two Luxury Twin, two Superior Luxury, one Family Suite, and one Standard room. All furniture is genuine leather; all rooms have air conditioning, private bathrooms with rain showers, and tea-and-coffee stations.
The Superior Luxury rooms extend onto private terraces with two outdoor showers, a freestanding bathtub, and a boma for meals under stars. Beds can be moved outside on request. Game drives lasting three hours cross the reserve and descend into the dry Ugab riverbed; sundowners follow on a ridge above the valley. Guided walks on foot lead through a 500-hectare breeding camp before entering the Ugab riverbed and returning to the lodge. Excursions to San rock art sites — hunting scenes and abstract drawings over 2,100 years old — take roughly two hours. Bush braais unfold in the dry riverbed at midday. The pool includes a submerged Martini seat and surrounding loungers. Indoor dining seats 18; the outdoor terrace seats 14. Rifle-shooting courses cover long rifles, shotguns, and pistols.
