Agriturismo Biologico Novelleto -Monteriggioni

Monteriggioni's walled castle stands a short distance from Novelleto, a working organic farm turned into a small agriturismo among olive groves, vineyards and woodland. The apartments sit beside the farm owners' own house, a arrangement that has changed little since the property began welcoming guests. Three types of stay are on offer. Edera is a ground-floor room of 20 square metres with a private entrance and veranda. Il Bosco is a 50 square metre apartment with its own kitchen and living room, also on the ground floor. Il Capanno Suite Deluxe stands apart from the rest, a detached house across two floors, 90 square metres, with two bathrooms, a fireplace and a jacuzzi. All three are self-catering, fitted with tiled floors, mosquito screens and a shared barbecue area outdoors. Guests can walk the vineyard rows, follow the Novelleto stream along a stretch of the Via Francigena, or cycle out toward the castle walls. It is quiet, working land rather than a manicured garden. Olive trees border the paths, and the estate's own produce turns up at breakfast when it is booked directly. The pace here follows the farm's, not a hotel's clock.
