Akayet Hotel
Arriving in Bolgatanga, the region's capital, guests find a hotel built as much for conferences as for stopovers. Akayet Hotel runs 52 rooms and ten executive chalets across a compound in the Yikene area, each room fitted with air conditioning, a safe, and a desk for work. Rooms range from a 21 m² standard to a 79 m² executive chalet with its own kitchenette and second bedroom. It is a working hotel as much as a stopover. Three halls handle events of different scale: the largest, Eastwood Anaba, seats up to 250 theatre-style, while a smaller room called Drill Bit suits a board meeting of sixteen. Guests can swim in the pool, order from its bar, or work out in the on-site gym. The restaurant serves both local northern dishes and continental options, alongside a bar known locally for introducing cocktails to Bolgatanga's evening scene. A doctor is on call around the clock, and a shuttle can be arranged to and from the airport. Outside the gates, Bolgatanga's basket weavers, the Sirigu potters, and the crocodile ponds at Paga sit within reach for a day trip. Check-in runs from 5am. The hotel positions itself as the region's base for business travellers and visitors touring the Upper East alike.
