Alishan Tea Garden B&B
Framed by two floor-to-ceiling windows, the shared lounge looks one way over a rose garden and the other toward open hills. The property sits at 1,300 metres below Alishan, where short daylight hours and steady damp have long suited tea growing; the surrounding township is part of the region's tea country. Mornings open clear and blue. By midday, mist typically gathers over the hills and thickens into cloud through the afternoon, so guests chasing blue sky shoot at sunrise, and those after fog wait until later in the day. The building is arranged around the lounge, with a restaurant and one room type near the entrance and four further rooms reached through it, each door marked with its own small sign. Rooms are finished in white with pale blue accents and large windows set level with the bed, some facing the rose garden, others the hills. It is a compact stay, with eight rooms in total and parking on site. A viewpoint for sunrise lies about a five-minute walk away, reachable on foot before breakfast. Breakfast itself runs to a full plate per guest, with toast, orange juice, and tea. Check-in is mid-afternoon, and the pace here favours one walk a day and long stretches of doing nothing at all.
