Ambassador, a Boutique Hotel
Set in Shmeisani, Amman's financial district, Ambassador rises six storeys above one of the capital's quieter neighbourhoods. Hand-carved white limestone covers the facade, paired with steel balconies that nod to Jordanian building tradition. The hotel dates to 1977, when a Jordanian entrepreneur opened it with a view over the old eastern quarter of the city, and much of that outlook survives today from the upper floors.

The 72 rooms and suites split between two styles: an elegant traditional look and an Art Deco one, some with sightlines across the Old City. Embassy Suites add a separate living area to the bedroom, giving the space more room to spread out. A boutique lobby off the entrance opens onto the Karam Lounge, panelled in wood with a tiled back wall and leather seating. It is a compact, quiet corner rather than a grand hall.

Guests can swim at the seasonal outdoor pool, use the fitness centre, or sit on the sun terrace. The on-site restaurant serves through the day, and Naya Ballroom, with its high ceilings and chandeliers, along with an outdoor terrace, handle weddings and events. Free parking is available on site. The hotel sits within reach of Amman landmarks including a former royal residence turned museum and the city's main archaeology museum, both a short drive away.
