Ambong Pool Villas Langkawi
Nine timber pool villas set into Langkawi's rainforest above the Andaman Sea
Skip to product information
Set into a hillside of rainforest above the Andaman Sea, Ambong Pool Villas holds just nine villas, each built from sustainably sourced timber and arranged to open indoor rooms onto the outdoors. The site sits above Pantai Tengah, five minutes from its restaurants and shops, and close enough to the jetty at Teluk Baru for island-hopping trips. Hornbills and dusky leaf monkeys move through the canopy overhead. Each villa has its own pool, a private courtyard, and a lanai with sunbathing chairs; an outdoor kitchen comes fitted with a fridge, oven-toaster, and coffee machine. The three-bedroom Villa Raya is the largest, a two-storey unit with an infinity pool, a kid's pool, and ensuite bathrooms off every bedroom. Two villas, Kemarong and Machinchang, have no bathtub. Dining runs across three venues: Rimba, the plant-based Pegaga Vegan Café, and Rimba Sky on the rooftop, where dinner looks over the sea at sunset. Amaala Spa draws on healing traditions from Borneo's rainforest tribes for its treatments. Prayer mats and Qibla direction are available in the villas on request, alongside halal-friendly dining. Check-in from 2pm is available for those arriving early. It is a compact, quiet base, closer to a private residence than a resort, with the forest and the sea both a short walk away.
