andBeyond Chobe Under Canvas
Part of Phasec create
andBeyond Chobe Under Canvas sits inside Chobe National Park in northern Botswana, at semi-permanent campsites set deep in the northern part of a reserve covering eleven thousand seven hundred square kilometres. Animal trails run between the five tents and down toward the Chobe River, and elephant, buffalo, lion, spotted hyena and hippo move through the same landscape without a fence between you and them.
Each safari tent has a queen or twin bed, an ensuite bathroom with a separate flush toilet, and an alfresco bucket shower — hot water is delivered on request. Oil lamps light the tent at night. A verandah and a private sitting area give you somewhere to sit between activities. Five tents keep the camp small.
Game drives go out morning and afternoon with andBeyond guides, who will focus on species or behaviour you ask about. A separate photographic safari runs on the Chobe River by custom-built boat; professional photographers on board advise on technique and positioning, and every seat on the boat has a camera fitted to it.
Meals are cooked over coals and eaten communally around an open fire. A complimentary airport shuttle connects the camp to the nearest airstrip.
