andBeyond Nxabega Under Canvas

On a private concession in the Okavango Delta, andBeyond Nxabega Under Canvas sits beside a seasonal floodplain shaded by old trees. The camp holds three tents only, each with a veranda facing the water and canvas walls that leave the bush audible at every hour. It is a small, quiet operation. Each tent runs to 29 square metres, with a private sitting area, en suite bathroom and a solid base camp bed, and the whole camp takes a maximum of six guests at a time. Game drives run morning and night, with trackers following lion, leopard and serval across the concession's grasslands and channels. Guided walking safaris cover the same ground on foot, reading tracks and scent at closer range. When water levels allow, mornings can be spent gliding through reed-lined channels by mokoro, the traditional dugout canoe of the Delta, or fishing for tiger fish and tilapia by catch and release. You can hear the floodplain's birdlife from the tent well before the day's first drive. Meals shift with the setting, some by firelight near the water, others under the trees, and staff numbers are high relative to guests, so service stays attentive without becoming intrusive. Wi-Fi and hot water are standard; distraction is not the point here. Check-in is from 2pm, check-out by 11am.
