Rhino Conservation Experience (additional cost)

This is real fieldwork, not a photo opportunity. A wildlife veterinarian and helicopter pilot locate and dart a rhino from the air, and once the animal is safely sedated, guests join the ground team for the ear-notching procedure used to identify individuals and monitor their security. A microchip is also inserted into the horn for tracking purposes. Up to eight guests share a vehicle for the outing, with a private vehicle arranged for smaller groups. Participants must be twelve or older, and a stay of at least three nights is required to allow for suitable darting conditions. Cost is additional to accommodation.
