Ocean safari (additional cost)

An excursion away from Phinda's Big Five reserve, out onto the Indian Ocean aboard an inflatable vessel with a certified dive master. The outing offers the chance to swim with wild dolphins and snorkel over reefs, and, in season, to see humpback and southern right whales. It runs as an add-on to the lodge's land-based programme of game drives, walks and rhino tracking, giving guests a marine counterpart to Phinda's terrestrial safari. Wetsuits and snorkelling gear are part of the setup, guided throughout by the dive master accompanying the boat.
