Pangolin Conservation Experience (additional cost)

This is a privately guided outing to find and monitor a Temminck's ground pangolin, part of a project reintroducing the species to Phinda after local extinction. Guests accompany a researcher on foot as they locate an animal using its fitted tracking tag, then watch as the team checks its condition and downloads data recorded since the last visit. It is a close look at one of the world's most heavily trafficked mammals, without contact — handling is not permitted. Timing shifts with the season, run in late afternoon or evening during winter and after dark in summer. Participants must be sixteen or older, and groups under six guests require a private vehicle. Cost is additional and availability limited.
