Angeli Gardens Boutique Hotel

The garden comes first here: a working plant nursery, started by the family that once lived on this ground, still fills the grounds with colour. Angeli Gardens Boutique Hotel occupies that former home at the foot of Merendon Mountain, on the edge of San Pedro Sula. The main house holds eight rooms, including one suite with a private balcony over the pool and garden. Three villas stand apart, each with a king or queen bed, a closet, and a shower room with hot water, and one sleeps up to four on two full-size beds. Pets are allowed in the villas only, not the main house. A swimming pool anchors the social area, where breakfast is included with every room rate. Jungla Brewing Company operates on site, pouring IPA, porter, and stout it brews itself, with a separate outdoor bar for guests travelling with dogs. The restaurant serves Latin American dishes, from grilled meat platters to ceviche, drawing produce from the nursery grounds around it. You can walk from your room to a hike up to El Mirador, a lookout with views over the surrounding hills, without leaving the property's gates. Toucans and motmots move through the tree cover above the paths. Four venues, including a garden space for up to 280 guests and a hall built from salvaged winery timber, host weddings and events. Check-in runs from 3pm.
