Angvik Gamle Handelssted
Set on the shore of the Tingvoll Fjord, Angvik Gamle Handelssted occupies a former trading post with 37 rooms spread across three floors. Many rooms are named after past generations of the family who ran the trading post, and 33 look out over the water. The building itself has been fully restored, and its living rooms keep open fireplaces and porcelain from an earlier era. It is a compact stay. Below the hotel, the old wharf still marks the trading post's original edge onto the fjord.

The spa, called Badehuset, is housed partly in a timber storehouse from the 1700s and partly in a new extension built alongside it. It holds a heated pool, a sauna, and treatment rooms, all facing the fjord through large windows. You can watch the water from the pool itself. Two museums and a gallery of around 75 works, roughly 45 of them sculpture, sit on the grounds, tracing the site's trading history back to Dutch ships that once called here for timber.

The restaurant serves a five-course menu built from producers named on site, including a local cheesemaker and a game supplier. Meeting rooms hold up to 140 people, and a newer conference wing adds space for 60 more. Molde Airport lies 50 km away.
