Anne Hathaway's Cottage

Anne Hathaway's Cottage is situated in the village of Shottery, Warwickshire England, and is the 12-room farmhouse where Anne Hathaway lived as a child, before her marriage to William Shakespeare. The house was home to the Hathaway family till 1846 when it had to be sold due to financial problems. The family still lived there as tenants when it was acquired by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in 1892. The cottage was badly damaged in a fire in 1969, but was restored by the trust, and turned into a museum, retaining some of the original furniture such as Anne's bed. The estate features stunning grounds and gardens.
