Set on 600 acres of hillside and shore near Soufrière, Anse Chastanet borders two soft-sand beaches with the Pitons rising behind them. The estate runs from the waterline up a slope thick with tropical planting, and rooms are placed either among coconut palms at the beach or higher on the hill, facing the mountains and the sea. It is a working landscape as much as a resort: an on-site farm supplies the kitchens, and guided walks trace old paths through the grounds with a resident naturalist.
Forty-nine rooms are individually designed, none identical, built from coralina stone and tropical hardwood with louvred windows and open-air balconies. Premium rooms sit at the highest hillside level, looking straight down the Pitons and the water below. Beachside rooms stand a few steps from the sand, with clay tile floors and garden views. You can watch the sunset from the Beach House's raised deck on the northern point of the bay.
A reef lies just offshore within a marine reserve, and the resort runs its own dive operation, Scuba St Lucia, from the beach. Twelve miles of trails cross the neighbouring Anse Mamin estate for hiking and biking. Four restaurants draw on the property's own farm. Check-in details and meal plans vary by season.
