Check into Apollofirst is a boutique hotel built across three joined mansions on the Apollolaan, one of Amsterdam Oud-Zuid's grander streets, lined with mature trees and wide footpaths. It is a compact stay. Forty individually decorated rooms range from a 10 m² single to a 35 m² apartment with its own kitchenette and balcony, and every room has air conditioning, a smart TV and free tea and coffee. Guests reach the Concertgebouw, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk on foot, and the Vondelpark lies close by for a walk into the centre. Downstairs, the library bar is open only to hotel guests, its shelves and low lighting built for a quiet drink rather than a crowd. The hotel also runs its own theatre, seating fifty-five, with a programme that runs from classical to fado and cabaret. Breakfast is served daily in the hotel's restaurant. Meetings and small private events can be arranged in a daylit room that seats up to fifty-five cabaret-style, or twelve around a boardroom table. Bikes are available to rent at reception, and street parking runs along the Apollolaan itself.
