Arabian Adventures Overnight Desert Safari
One night, one reserve, dunes and stars ninety minutes from Dubai

The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve sits inland from the city, a protected stretch of dune and scrub set aside for wildlife rather than development. Arabian Adventures runs its Overnight Desert Safari here, in deluxe tents pitched for a single night under open sky. Arrival is by dune drive, the 4x4 cutting across sand ridges before guests transfer to camel for the last approach into camp. It is a quiet way to enter the desert. Evenings run to a set rhythm: BBQ dinner in a Bedouin-style setting, shisha or drinks for those who want them, then a guided walk once the light has gone. The reserve holds Arabian oryx and gazelle, and the night walk is built around spotting them, along with whatever else moves after dark. A fire is lit for marshmallows once the walk ends, and the stars overhead are free of city glow. Mornings are shorter and plainer. Guests wake to the sunrise over the dunes and sit down to a proper breakfast before the drive back to Dubai. There is no pool, no spa, nothing beyond canvas, sand, and the reserve itself. That is the point of it. The camp trades comfort in the ordinary sense for one clear night away from the skyline, and delivers it without fuss.
