Established as a forest retreat on the slopes of the Arangala Mountain Range near Naula, Arangala Forest Lodge is a cluster of cabanas set among native vegetation in Sri Lanka's central hills. Three room types occupy the site: Standard Double rooms, Deluxe Double rooms, and Superior King rooms, the last with a private balcony. Each holds a queen- or king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, and tea and coffee facilities. The Superior King rooms open onto balconies that face the mountain ridge.

Two pools lie within the grounds. An infinity-edge pool overlooks the forest canopy. A natural pool, fed by spring water, runs beside boulders and mimics the flow of a mountain stream. The open-air restaurant serves Sri Lankan and international dishes prepared with local ingredients; cookery demonstrations teach traditional preparation methods using cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. A 4.3-kilometre trail climbs from the lodge to the summit of Arangala Mountain, passing a seasonal waterfall. Bird-watching walks identify resident species including the Brahminy Kite and Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill. Primates visible from the grounds include the endemic toque macaque and purple-faced leaf monkey. Bicycle routes lead 14 kilometres through Naula to Bowathanna Reservoir. Yoga and meditation sessions take place in a natural cave formation. Sigiriya Rock Fortress stands 40 kilometres north; the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy is 52 kilometres south. Wireless internet and parking are complimentary.
