Art Hotel Sibiu
Centumvirilor Street runs along the old defensive wall of Sibiu, curved like a spine and known locally, in an older tongue, as Hundsrucken. Art Hotel sits directly on it, roughly 200 metres from Piața Mare and close enough to the fortifications to share their shadow. The building is new by Sibiu's standards. Inside, the design pairs materials centuries apart: reclaimed timber and stone details sit against contemporary fittings, air conditioning and flat-screen televisions. It is a small hotel. Twenty-two rooms and five suites make up the 27 units, each finished with a desk and a private bathroom, and each bright enough that the street's narrow profile rarely feels close. A lounge bar and a terrace anchor the ground floor, where breakfast runs to a buffet with continental options. You can walk to the Council Tower, the Brukenthal Museum and Albert Huet Square within minutes, all threaded through streets that predate the hotel by some 900 years. Parking is street-side only, metered by the city between 8am and 10pm and free after dark — a small trade-off for a position inside walls that have stood, largely unbroken, since the 13th century. The hotel rents out a small car for guests who want to push further into the region, toward the fortified churches and mountain roads beyond the city.
