Atami Escape Resort

Built along the Litoral highway near Tamanique, Atami Escape Resort grew from a stretch of Pacific coastline into what is now one of La Libertad's fuller beach stays. It sits within the area known as Surf City, close to the breaks at El Palmarcito and El Zonte. The resort holds eighteen rooms, doubles and family rooms, each with air conditioning, cable TV and a private bathroom. Seven pools sit across the grounds, four filled with natural water and three with salt water, alongside a water slide that draws families through the afternoon. An oceanfront boardwalk runs along the water's edge, and guests can reach two separate beaches without leaving the property. The restaurant serves a mix of local and international dishes, built around fresh seafood, ceviche and cocktails, with breakfast included for all guests. Beach huts are scattered through the grounds for groups wanting shade near the sand. The resort also runs an events side, with an air-conditioned hall and open-air spaces used for weddings, corporate meetings and social gatherings, all facing the coast. It is roughly 40 minutes from San Salvador. Day visitors can buy a pass covering pool and beach access, with a restaurant voucher included. Surf lessons are available on site for those keen to try the waves at El Zonte or El Palmarcito nearby.
