Auberge Anse Boileau

Arriving in Anse Boileau, a fishing village on Mahé's west coast, guests find a low guesthouse wrapped around a courtyard, its restaurant open to a tropical garden since the early 1990s. Restaurant Chez Plume anchors the property and has done so for over thirty years, serving fish and Creole dishes alongside French, Indian and grill plates to residents and passers-by alike. Rooms are simple and face the garden, each with a balcony, a ceiling fan and a private bathroom with shower. The beach lies close by, just a short walk across the road. It is a modest stay, not a grand one. Michael, the owner, runs the place with a personal hand, greeting late arrivals and helping with car hire when needed. A pool sits at the centre of the courtyard, framed by sun loungers, and bus stops nearby make Victoria and the wider island easy to reach without a car. Seychelles International Airport is 12 km away. Breakfast runs to a full buffet with fresh fruit, taken either in the restaurant or outside among the trees. The result is a working guesthouse rather than a resort, shaped over three decades by the same family and the same garden kitchen, with the sea a hundred metres off and buses running past the gate.
