Auberge de la Source

Built as a farmhouse in the 18th century, L'Auberge de la Source stands in Barneville-la-Bertran, a village five kilometres from Honfleur. The Boelen family later acquired the property, and it was rated four stars before joining the Collection Saint-Siméon, which added four rooms. Four buildings now make up the address: the main Auberge, home to the lounge and restaurant; the Pavillon, above the spring; the Longère, set in the garden; and l'Orée du Bois, raised on higher ground. Nineteen rooms and two cottages fill these buildings, alongside three further cottages nearby, including a mill house that sleeps up to twelve. The garden itself is fed by three natural springs and holds ponds stocked with trout and sturgeon, shaded by fruit trees and a weeping willow. The newest addition is the Spa Forestier, a two-person retreat at the wood's edge with a glass wall onto the countryside, an outdoor jacuzzi and a sauna. Dogs are welcome, arriving with a basket and a bone.
